Local Rule with regard to bunkers   16/07/2020

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions , rakes for the upkeep of bunkers have been removed from the course.

We would ask all players after playing from a bunker to leave it as you would like to find it by smoothing the sand with your shoe or golf club.

However , we have introduced the following temporary local rule to cover situations where on arriving at a bunker you find your ball is in a bad lie or footprint, deep or otherwise.

LOCAL RULE FOR BUNKERS

As the removal of all rakes has been recommended by the GUI,

The following local rule for bunkers is in operation:

When a player’s ball lies in a bunker, the player may place the ball (in the bunker) within six inches of where the ball lies -- not nearer the hole.”

Please note that smoothing the sand before placing the ball is not allowed.

The Committee requests players to smooth bunkers using either their foot or a club after playing their stroke.

Our scorecards are 6 inches tall so it can be used to determine the relief area.

The other permanent local rules are on the respective scorecards for the Hackett and Wild Atlantic Dunes courses
