Mr Seamus Cafferky 2016 Club President R.I.P   12/11/2016

It is with great sadness that we report this morning, the passing of our Club President and Past Captain  Mr Seamus Cafferky after a brave battle with illness.

Seamus was a long time member of our Club and a founding member of Turaiseoireacht Iorrais Teo (Erris Tourism Ltd) and accordingly one of the driving forces behind the development of Carne.

He was Captain of our Club thirty years ago in 1986 when the members of the Club were playing on the nine hole course in Ballymacsheerin,Binghamstown and Carne was just about to become a reality.

It was with great joy for both the Club and our Captain John Gallagher earlier in the year when Seamus agreed to take on the role of President after a number of years away from Club duties.

And it was fitting perhaps that good friend Vincent Fahy should win Seamus' President's prize back in June when a great day and night was had by all.

Many words will be spoken of Seamus in the next number of days, suffice it to say he was a wonderfully proud member of Belmullet Golf Club and above all a very proud Erris man.

Funeral details are as follows...
